OMNIATHLETE
SPEED DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

The exclusive Omniathlete Speed Development workshop is a 2-days intensive course led by Antonio Robustelli, where you will gain a thorough understanding of the biomechanics of speed and the differences (in terms of technique and training) between speed development in team sports and individual sports. You will fully understand how to develop an effective method for observing and evaluating movement and how to intervene to correct any abnormalitites in coordination and force expression. Through a unique blend of theory and practice, you will develop a 360-degree view of linear and multidirectional speed training and the various coaching, profiling, and programming strategies.

Course Objectives

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • understand the difference between linear, curvilinear and multidirectional speed

  • understand the difference between speed development in team and individual sports

  • recognize when a technical element represents an individual athlete adaptation and when it is an aspect that needs to be corrected

  • implement a systematic movement observation and evaluation strategy

  • create a sprint strength-velocity profile to individualize training

  • manage the teaching of correct acceleration and maximum speed mechanics

  • use tools such as laser, GPS, and motorized resistance for testing, profiling, and advanced training
